Claimed fulfillment of prophecies can be the domain of the weird. Every now and then someone will propose that a current event is the fulfillment of some apocalyptic prophecy, but the event fades from memory and loses its significance. Yet there are prophetic words uttered from the mouth of Jesus that are fulfilled every day. We tend to view these words from a 21st century perspective and take them for granted, but if we consider the context in which these words were originally uttered, then they are quite amazing and strongly suggest a divine origin. Jesus knew the future and his words have been continually fulfilled in fairly obvious ways over the last 2,000 years. I plan to share with you some of Jesus’ words that you probably already know, but ask you to look at them from a 1st century perspective. Hopefully, they will be amaze you too.
