There is considerable debate about the birth year of Jesus and the dates of events in his life. For example, his crucifixion is placed at 30 AD or 33 AD. His birth date ranges over 5 years and his baptism date over 4 years. So, questions arise on the time of the first Christmas and, therefore, our calendar. This leads to controversy as to when we should celebrate the 2000th anniversary of his baptism.
Plans are under way for worldwide ecumenical celebrations in 2030. However, evidence will be presented for an alternative explanation for 2026.
Trevor Harris has an Honours degree in Architecture and a master’s degree in urban and Regional Planning. For the past 25 years he has conducted research into historical timeframes and locations of Bible sites of the Middle East. He has a long interest in biblical apologetics.
