On the 22nd September Peri Forrester will speak on David Hume on the Existence of God. David Hume (1711 to 1776) was a key figure in the Enlightenment. He was a radical sceptic and has been highly influential on modern philosophy. Just before he died, he wrote “Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion”, which was published after his death. In this document he critiques the classical arguments for the existence of God.
Peri Forrester will provide a summary of David Hume, his arguments regarding the existence of God and will consider the question, “Is David Hume’s critique relevant to modern versions of the arguments for the existence of God?”
Peri Forrester is a keen member of the Reasonable Faith committee. Peri is a childrens’ and youth pastor at Glen Osmond Baptist church and is also a primary school teacher. She has also recently completed a Master of Arts in Christian Studies at Tabor College.
